The original ‘Goldfinger’ Aston Martin DB5 has just sold for a less-than-expected $4.2 million, £2.6 million, in London, UK.

The famous car comes equipped with machine guns, ejector seat and even a bullet-proof shield which can be deployed, all at the flick of switch or touch of a button.

The car also features the famous rotating numberplate mechanism which helped Bond get out of trouble in a number of occasions.

Reports say that this is the only true 007 Aston Martin DB5 still in existence, which had speculators guessing it would fetch up to $5.5 million.

Two of the cars were originally made and modified in conjunction with Aston Martin, but the other one was reported stolen in 1997 and has since never been recovered.

The lucky buyer also gets a bunch of James Bond memorabilia such as a signed photo of Sean Connery standing next to the DB5 during the actual filming of ‘Goldfinger’ in Switzerland.
